Technical Basics

  • Typical loadings are anywhere from 5 to 25 percent.
  • A 20 percent addition into a standard compound results in:
    • Little or no effect on Shore A durometer
    • Minimal effect on physical properties
    • Equal or better cured finish
    • No impact on gas swell
    • Indistinguishably dispersed in compound under microscopic analysis
  • Small compounding changes are necessary at higher loading to equalize processing and cure rate.
  • Recycled product is chemically equivalent to the cured product.
  • Each particle has an inherent level of activity that allows the material to be co-cured into a similar compound.
  • Regrind loading does not effect gas swell, TGA profile, or dispersion.
