Technical Basics
- Typical loadings are anywhere from 5 to 25 percent.
- A 20 percent addition into a standard compound results in:
- Little or no effect on Shore A durometer
- Minimal effect on physical properties
- Equal or better cured finish
- No impact on gas swell
- Indistinguishably dispersed in compound under microscopic analysis
- Small compounding changes are necessary at higher loading to equalize processing and cure rate.
- Recycled product is chemically equivalent to the cured product.
- Each particle has an inherent level of activity that allows the material to be co-cured into a similar compound.
- Regrind loading does not effect gas swell, TGA profile, or dispersion.
